My name is Noor Velthuizen. I am a research intern at the Lifestyle Brain Interaction group, currently completing my research master's in Cognitive Neuroscience.
My academic path has taken a few turns to get here. I started out studying Food Technology, drawn by an interest in nutrition, but found myself missing the human side of it. The programme is primarily focused on improving food products rather than people. That gap led me toward (neuro)psychology and the brain, and I eventually found my way to research that brings both interests together.
I am interested in how everyday choices around nutrition, movement, and lifestyle can meaningfully impact well-being and brain function. Outside of research, I am an active outdoor enthusiast, and I spend my free time kitesurfing, hiking, cycling, and running.
